A customer was shot at a gas station on Northside Drive near Spelman College Thursday evening.
The customer was approached by someone with a handgun who placed it on his chest and demanded money, then fired, Sgt. Curtis Davenport of the Atlanta Police Department told the AJC.
The shooter took the victim's keys and drove away in the his car, Davenport said. He said the victim was stable when taken to a hospital.
The incident occurred around 7:30 p.m. at the Texaco in the 200 block of Northside Drive, near McDaniel Street.
The car was recovered near the crime scene, but the suspect got away. The suspect got into the car with another person, Davenport told Jennifer Griffies of AM 750 and now 95.5FM News/Talk WSB. There was no description of the suspect immediately available.
The investigation is continuing.
