For folks in Johns Creek, “butterburgers” and frozen custard will now only be a short drive away.

Culver's — a Wisconsin-based fast food chain serving up beef, dairy and much more — opened the doors of its newest location in Johns Creek on Monday, hosting a ribbon-cutting ceremony with the Johns Creek Chamber of Commerce.

Nestled at 3135 Peachtree Parkway, the eatery will be open seven days a week from 10:30 a.m. to 10 p.m.

Culver's specialty is its variety of "butterburgers." The fast food chain calls them this because the crown of each burger's bun is lightly buttered for "an extra touch of goodness."

According to its website, Culver's has 10 locations in Georgia that are now open, but plans to open three more, in Savannah, Gainesville and Kennesaw.

In 2017, an Atlanta private-equity firm, Roark Capital Group, bought a minority share of the Culver Franchising System.

Since its founding in Saulk City, Wisconsin in 1984, Culver’s has expanded to have locations in 24 states.
