The Georgia Supreme Court on Monday reinstated a DeKalb County woman’s vehicular homicide conviction for striking and killing a 7-year-old boy on his way to Princeton Elementary School in February 2009.

The Court of Appeals had overturned Shirley Ogilivie’s conviction, but the state Supreme Court, in a unanimous opinion, found the appeals court to be in error. Ogilvie was convicted of two misdemeanors, including vehicular homicide in the second degree, for running over Kameron Dunmore with her SUV as he crossed South DeShon Road in the presence of a crossing guard with a stop sign.
