County reaches police agreement with Stockbridge
The Henry County Board of Commissioners approved an updated agreement for police services recently.
At its May 3 regular meeting, the agreement was essentially unchanged from the previous one, which had expired. City and county officials negotiated for about a year amid considerable public squabbling before coming to this conclusion.
The county had considered an option that would create a special tax district for Stockbridge to get increased revenue from the city but declined to go in that direction as the city objected.
