Police meeting for west Cobb on Tuesday
Police officials from the west Cobb precinct will hold a community meeting at 7 p.m. Tuesday at Cobb County Police Precinct 5, 4640 Dallas Highway, Powder Springs.
New Precinct Commander, Capt. Barry Little, officers and detectives will listen to any concerns about west Cobb crime.
Crime statistics and “sexploitation” of youths in west Cobb also will be discussed.

Orchestra needs string musicians
The Southern Crescent Symphony Orchestra needs string musicians. Auditions for the 2013-14 season is Aug. 13, between 6 p.m. and 9 p.m., in the Clayton State University Music Building.

Woodstock campus closed temporarily
Chattahoochee Technical College’s Woodstock campus will be closing Aug. 8 for long-planned renovations.
The $5.2 million upgrade to the HVAC system, roof, windows, plumbing and restrooms is expected to take about 18 months.

First charter school cluster vote this month
Proponents of creating a Druid Hills Charter Cluster in north central DeKalb County will hold a vote 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the high school gym, 1798 Haygood Dr NE, Atlanta.
Administrators, teachers and parents or guardians of children eligible to attend Druid Hills High School and any of the six schools in its feeder pattern can vote.
Bring photo identification and the child’s birth certificate. For those whose children are not yet attending district schools, proof of residency.

FORSYTH
Forsyth considering election changes
The Forsyth County Board of Voter Registrations and Elections is proposing a series of changes in election day voting locations and precinct lines that would begin in 2014.
The changes would cut the current 25 precincts to 16.
Officials say they’re considering the plan to save money, and because a large number of voters now cast ballots before election day.
