Holiday event through Jan. at Piedmont Park

The second annual Season of Magic in Piedmont Park, featuring a holiday carousel and horse-drawn carriage rides, will run from 4 to 10:30 p.m. daily through Jan. 6. Enjoy the lights free of charge. Carriage rides are $25 for adults and $20 for children. Carousel rides are $3 for all ages. All rides originate from Park Tavern, 500 10th Street N.E. Safety program starts in Hapeville

Citizens on Patrol announced a new program for Hapeville neighborhoods. “Lights On” is a program that encourages residents to keep their porch light on December through January to help with neighborhood safety. Union City hosts Christmas Tree lighting

Union City’s annual Christmas Tree lighting and festivities will take place 6:30 - 8:30 p.m. Monday at Mayors Park at the corner of

Watson and Union streets The program features music from local and regional choirs, scripture readings, “Name that Tune,” and a photo with Santa.

Club plans project to enhance North Park

The Rotary Club of North Fulton recently won permission to construct a reflection garden at Alpharetta’s North Park. The project, designed by Richard Owens Environmental Design, will be the club’s third project at the park.

The garden will feature a rustic pergola as an attractive focal point from the road, multiple benches and brick pavers. The community can contribute to the project by purchasing the engraved pavers or contributing to the cost of the benches and pergola.

Glenn Memorial hosts advent service

Glenn Memorial United Methodist Church, 1660 N. Decatur Road, presents a service of Lessons and Carols, 10:30 a.m. Dec. 9. Children’s, youth and adult choirs, soloists and instrumentalists will offer music to proclaim Advent texts chosen especially for this service.

In addition to congregational carols and hymns, the poetry of John Donne and Byron Herbert Reece will be heard.

The service will conclude with Bach’s majestic “Dona Nobis Pacem” from the B-Minor Mass.
