What could have been a ticket for illegal parking became a case of hit and run when a driver slammed his Corvette into the side of the patrol car driven by an Atlanta police officer who had just tried to question him.
The sports car was parked in a fire lane at Lenox Mall near Bloomingdale's as the officer drove up, dashboard camera activated.
When the officer exited his vehicle, the driver of the Corvette came out of the mall. The officer tried to question the driver but the driver got in the vehicle, locked the door and left the parking lot at a high rate of speed. The officer's car was later struck by the Corvette as it attempted to flee.
Atlanta police are looking for help in finding the driver. Anyone with information should call 404-765-2808.
