Gwinnett County police are searching for a man who they believe has burglarized at least five businesses in four weeks.

The suspect struck offices and automotive businesses in Norcross, Peachtree Corners and Lawrenceville, according to police reports. In four burglaries, the suspect got into the businesses by smashing glass doors with a rock or brick. The fifth business was broken into by prying a door open, a police report said.

During the first reported burglary, an office worker was inside the building when the suspect broke in. The employee locked herself in an office and called police during the break-in. The suspect wore a mask and carried a bag, a police report says.

In the burglaries, which occurred between Feb. 13 and March 15, the suspect got away with almost $3,000 in cash and caused at least $1,100 in damage to businesses. No detailed description has been given of the suspect, but he has been reported to wear hoodies and masks during the burglaries, which all occurred between 4 a.m. and 7 a.m.

Anyone with information about this case is asked to contact Gwinnett County detectives at 770-513-5300 or Crime Stoppers at 404-577-8477. Crime Stoppers tips may be rewarded with up to $2,000 if they lead to an arrest or indictment.
