A DeKalb County man who said he tried to revive a woman after she committed suicide in their apartment was in jail Saturday facing drug trafficking charges.

When police arrived at the Gable Apartments on Sheridan Road on Friday evening, they found Quiana Roache, 20, dead from a suspected suicide by gunshot.

They also found about 30 pounds of marijuana and several thousand dollars in cash inside the apartment.

Police said Marquis Davis, 24, who lived at the apartment with Roache, told them the woman was very depressed when he arrived home Friday and that he tried to console her.

Davis said he left the apartment but returned a while later to find the woman mortally wounded in a bedroom.

Davis told police he called 911 and attempted to revive Roach, who police said was dead by the time they arrived.

After discovery of the drugs and cash, Davis was arrested on a charge of drug trafficking, police said.

DeKalb police said an autopsy on Roache was planned.

Dispatch editor K. Brooks contributed to this report.
