Six people connected to the recent rash of smash and grab burglaries in the Atlanta area were arrested Friday, and Atlanta Police are asking the public’s help in identifying more suspects.

The smash and grab burglaries occurred at multiple businesses throughout the city and date back to August 2015. The burglaries are believed to be related to gang activity, investigators said.

Police said they recovered thousands of dollars in stolen merchandise and have four men and two women in custody. Cordarrell Taylor, 29; Marquez Watson, 23; Freddrick Hammond, 26; Johntavis Bailey, 24; Uniqua Davis, 25; and Ashley Askew, 23, all face charges.

“The Atlanta Police Department will not stand for this type of brazen behavior and want to send the message that if you are in possession of stolen merchandise, you may face criminal charges” authorities said in a statement. Atlanta Police also said they are partnering with the Federal Bureau of Investigation and other jurisdictions to identify additional individuals who are believed to be involved in these burglaries.

Crime Stoppers Atlanta is offering up to a $2,000 reward for information leading to an arrest and indictment. Persons may remain anonymous and still be eligible for the reward.
