Construction worker seriously injured in 16-foot fall

A 46-year-old man doing construction work was seriously injured when he fell 16 feet from a storage tank Thursday afternoon in Cherokee County, Canton police said.
The man, whose name was not released, fell around 4 p.m. near the intersection of Lower Scott Mill Road and Hickory Flat Highway, Officer Pacer Cordry said. He was taken by ambulance to WellStar Kennestone Hospital with severe injuries, but his condition was not known late Thursday.
The fall remained under investigation by police and firefighters, Cordry said.
