The city and the Urban League of Greater Atlanta have scheduled a Community Employment and Careers Opportunity Forum for Thursday, July 21, for job seekers in southwest Atlanta.
The event, at the Vicars Community Center, 838 Cascade Ave. SW, is free and open to the public. Registration begins at 9:30 a.m., with forums to be held from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. For information: http://bit.ly/29NdJFh
City Council members Cleta Winslow and Joyce Sheperd, the Atlanta Workforce Development Agency and the Urban League are inviting residents of Cascade Avenue, Oakland City, Venetian Hills, Bush Mountain, Richland Hills, Ashmel Estates and surrounding neighborhoods.
Presenters will include YouthBuild, an organization that helps low-income young people learn construction skills. Employers also will be on site.
