The Gwinnett County Board of Commissioners on Tuesday approved two road construction projects near Dacula Elementary School.

Commissioners approved the realignment of Old Peachtree Road at the Dacula Road intersection to improve traffic flow and visibility. They also agreed to add curb, gutter and sidewalks along half a mile of Fence Road near the elementary school.

The projects will cost $566,411. Commissioners awarded both projects to low bidder Summit Construction and Development. Construction is expected to take about six months.
