Live music and yoga are just a few reasons why evenings in Midtown just got a bit livelier.

To celebrate the opening of The Grove — Colony Square's new 10,000 square-foot urban park — free weekly signature events have been planned through Sept. 25. One of the events includes Groovin' in The Grove, which will feature music from local artists.

“We’re always looking for innovative ways to bring more energy to the heart of Midtown,” Colony Square’s marketing coordinator Sara Carville said in a release about the series. “We’re proud to offer the community our most exciting signature events lineup yet and look forward to showcasing Colony Square as a destination where people can gather and soak up Midtown’s vibe.”

Live music will play from 6 to 8 p.m. every Friday starting June 7.

If you can’t wait until then to enjoy the park, Colony Square brought back Yoga on the Square, which features instructors from local yoga studios, including exhale Atlanta, CorePower Yoga and Dancing Dogs Yoga. A loyalty program will also be offered, which rewards participants with free yoga-themed swag for every four classes attended.

Participants will also get the chance to attend Yoga in the Sky, a silent yoga experience with a DJ and headphones atop Colony Square’s helipad.

Yoga in the Square, now in its fourth year, will be held 6 to 7 p.m. every Wednesday until Sept. 25.
