It will be an explosive-free weekend for the northeast Georgia college student who admitted to federal agents that she likes to blow things up as a hobby. She's being held without bond after a hearing was canceled Friday.
Celia Alchemy Savage's father says his daughter shouldn't be in jail and the government should butt out.
"She likes to hunt and fish," Tommy Savage told Channel 2 Action News. "She loves shooting. She goes sky diving. All kinds of stuff like that that you wouldn't really typically think of a young lady doing."
But a search of her home Wednesday led to federal charges for 23-year-old Celia Savage of Cornelia.
Law enforcement agencies including the federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, the FBI and the GBI searched Celia Savage's home and found explosive devices, firearms and suspected illegal drugs, according to documents filed in U.S. District Court, Gainesville.
The GBI bomb squad assisted with the search of the home, a spokesman told the AJC.
Celia Savage allegedly told an FBI agent she likes to blow up toilets in the woods, and said she has made five to seven pipe bombs because "manufacturing explosive devices and detonating them for recreation was her hobby," according to an ATF report.
A YouTube video -- her father confirmed its authenticity -- shows one of her detonations. But it was taken down from the site Friday.
Her Facebook profile, which is public, contains numerous pictures and statements regarding her love of guns and distaste for law enforcement. Colleges she attended, according to the profile, include Gainesville State College and North Georgia Technical College.
"I despise all law enforcement and any governing authority," she states in her profile. "I am not one for selective targeting but mass destruction."
Still, Tommy Savage said, his daughter is no militia member and isn't planning a terror attack.
"I think everybody ought to be able to stay on their property, do whatever the heck they want to," he said.
The father also said his daughter is not a drug user, but that he doesn't approve of some of her friends.
Celia Savage was being held Friday in the Hall County jail on drugs, weapons and explosives charges.
