The Path2College 529 Plan and the Department of Early Care and Learning (DECAL) have once again joined forces to raise awareness about the importance of financial planning and saving for college. The We Care Child Care Sweepstakes allows parents and grandparents to enter for a chance to win $1,529 for their child or grandchild’s college savings.

The contest runs through July 31.

Four children across the state of Georgia will be awarded with a $1,529 for their Path2College 529 Plan, and each winner’s child care program will be awarded $529.

The sweepstakes is open to legal residents living in the state of Georgia who are at least 21 years of age or older and the parent, legal guardian or grandparent of a child born on or after Jan. 1, 2007. Winners will be chosen randomly from four regions—Metro Atlanta, Southeast, North, and South Georgia.

“As our children get older, my husband and I realize more than ever the need to start planning for their education beyond high school,” said DECAL Commissioner Amy M. Jacobs. “Georgia’s Path2College 529 Plan is a perfect way to get started. I hope many Georgia families will enter this year’s We Care, Child Care Sweepstakes. Lucky winners can begin or add to an account that will help their children choose an academic path leading to a productive career and future.”
