College Park Main Street Association leadership and other area business interests have expressed concerns regarding the possibility a reduced speed limit along Main Street, according to City Manager Terrance Moore. In his weekly newsletter he recently advised that staff from both College Park Police Department and the Department of Engineering are working collaboratively with the Georgia Department of Transportation to review the situation.

Moore said one possibility may include designating a school zone, given the presence of Woodward Academy, McCiarin Success Academy, and the Main Street Academy in the area. The heavy pedestrian traffic in the area may be a factor as well.

Moore said he’ll inform the public of the results from the collaboration.
