Cobb County will upgrade existing traffic signals to include flashing yellow arrow signals for the left-turn phase at 31 intersections.
The Cobb County Board of Commissioners decided on Dec. 17 to pay $183,715 to Detection Engineering Technology, Inc., the only bidder.
The completion date is 75 consecutive calendar days, according to Cobb Transportation Agency Director Erica Parish.
A flashing yellow arrow is part of a new signal display system that more clearly indicates to drivers when they must yield before making a left turn across traffic, according to a county statement.
Funding will come from the 2016 Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax.
