A perfect weekend gives way to wet reality this week in Cobb County, but Monday and Tuesday should be mostly dry.

Afternoon, isolated showers are possible Monday, however. Not everyone will get rain, but those who do will see “heavy downpours,” said Channel 2 Action News meteorologist Karen Minton early Monday.

Humidity will increase with temperatures.

Highs for most of the week are expected at or just under 90. The chance of rain increases later in the week, with a 50 percent chance of thunderstorms Wednesday in Marietta. Cobb looks to be drier than most of metro Atlanta, however, with rain chances dropping to 40 percent Thursday and 20 percent Friday.

Scattered showers and storms are expected over the weekend.
