Cobb County high schools will have one more round of celebrations over the next two days for their graduating seniors.
Recent graduates will visit their schools for the final time pick up their diplomas, and at least two schools will host events celebrating the milestone.
Diploma pickups scheduled for Thursday are: Pope High School, 1-3 p.m.; Wheeler High School, 5:30 p.m.; Allatoona High School, 7:20 p.m.; McEachern High School, 7:30 p.m.; and Hillgrove High School, 7:30 p.m.
Harrison High School graduates on Friday will be treated to a special event honoring their achievements. The school will kick off its Friday Night Hoya Lights at 7:30 p.m. with a parade-like event for students to get their diplomas.
Students will ride through the school campus in their vehicles as Harrison faculty members cheer them on. Diplomas will be distributed by name, and the parade will be followed by a fireworks show starting at 9 p.m.

Lassiter High School is also planning a fireworks display after its graduates pickup their diplomas. The drive-by parade for graduates and their families starts at 7:30 p.m., with the fireworks beginning at 9 p.m.
Students at Campbell, Kennesaw Mountain, North Cobb, Osborne, Pebblebrook, South Cobb and Walton high schools got their diplomas last week at similar events held on those campuses.
The last day of school for the Cobb County School District is May 20. The system closed its doors March 16 due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and students continued their lessons at home with digital learning efforts.
Cobb County schools say these events are not being held in place of official graduation ceremonies, but are “another way to congratulate the class of 2020 on their years of hard work and dedication that led to their student success and ultimately, high school graduation.”
