An East Cobb restaurant received a failing score on its food service inspection conducted by the Cobb and Douglas Public Health Department.

Abood Pizza and Grill at 3920 Canton Road Suite 140 in Marietta got a 52, or U, on its April 5 inspection. Anything below a 70 is considered failing.

According to the report, Abood was cited for having two-week old Alfredo sauce, which the employee discarded.

Other violations include:

  • food that was prepared more than 24 hours ago that did not have the current date-marking;
  • cooked pizza and raw garlic knot dough left out overnight on the counter;
  • cold items such as tomatoes and sausage held greater than 41 degrees;
  • prep counters and cutting boards littered with food debris from the previous night's service;
  • a microwave used for customer orders had food residue in its interior;
  • utensils stored for use at the prep-top cooler had food debris and residue on them;
  • dough mixer observed with residue on its sides; and
  • raw chicken stored above cheese, produce and fish; and
  • raw ground beef and raw fish stored next to lettuce and cheese.

A follow-up inspection will be held on Monday, April 15. Phone calls placed to the restaurant went unanswered, as did a message to its Facebook page.
