Construction should start by mid-February on a $2 million upgrade in underground water, sewer and storm water infrastructure at Jim Miller Park in west Marietta The Cobb Commission has also approved contracts to rehab a dam at the park and improve electrical, heating and air systems in an exhibit hall.

The rehab is part of a total $24.4 million update planned for the well-used park where the annual Shriners Circus and North Georgia State Fair are held. The 2011 SPLOST will cover $6.2 million for current projects, and $18.2 million from the 2016 SPLOST will be used for future improvements.
