Cobb County is due to become $150,000 richer from a recently approved land transaction.

The Cobb County Board of Commissioners has authorized the sale of county-owned property at the intersection of Atlanta Road and Pat Mell Road in Smyrna.

For $150,000, the land will be sold by Cobb to Parklane Capital II, LLC through the county’s brokerage firm of McWhirter Realty Partners.

The property initially was acquired by Cobb as a condemnation associated with the 1994 Special Purpose Local Option Sales Tax (SPLOST), according to a county statement.

All net proceeds after expenses (that is, appraisals, real estate broker fees, sale and closing costs) will go into a surplus property account to be used for one-time expenditures that will be decided by the Cobb commissioners, the county statement added.
