A restaurant in Town Center at Cobb passed its re-inspection Tuesday after failing earlier this month.

Cuppoki, which specializes in bowls of raw fish known as poke, scored an 89, health department records show.

It still had problems with properly sanitized cloths used to wipe tables, according to the report, and its most recent failing inspection report was not listed for public view.

A Town Center at Cobb eatery has failed its most recent health check with issues in food safety and staff.

CupPoki, 400 Ernest W. Barrett Parkway in Kennesaw, scored a 69 on Wednesday, according to the health inspection report. Any score below a 70 is considered failing.

A CupPoki employee said Thursday a manager would call back The Atlanta Journal-Constitution with comment, but that had not happened as of late Friday morning.

The restaurant, which opened late last year next to Pandora on the mall's upper level, specializes in bowls of raw fish known as poke. The Hawaiian dish has become wildly trendy in landlocked Atlanta and beyond.

The eatery also serves variations on cooked Korean classics bibimbap and cupbap.

CupPoki was cited for things like its person in charge not knowing at what temperatures different foods are supposed to be safely held and an employee washing their hands without soap for 10 seconds.

The inspector also saw raw pork being stored in such a way that it could contaminate other foods. And there were containers of oil, soy sauce, ketchup, vinegar, mayonnaise, and canned goods being on floor in the kitchen.

From the looks of its website: The Town Center location is CupPoki's first, but it has plans for three others in Atlanta "coming soon."

Follow-up inspections are usually done within 10 days of the original evaluation.
