A ribbon cutting ceremony for the new Cobb Superior Courthouse on Haynes Street in Marietta is scheduled for Saturday.

The $63 million courthouse was paid for with collections from a 2005 special sales tax levy. Construction of the seven-story courthouse began in May 2009.

The grand opening program begins at 10 a.m., followed by open house tours from 11:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Parking will be available at the nearby public parking deck by entering from Cherokee or Waddell Streets.
