The Cobb County Board of Commissioners voted 5-0 Tuesday to spend $71,522 on equipment to treat snow-and-ice conditions.

Two 9-yard stainless steel spread hoppers will be bought from Cherokee Truck Equipment, the only bidder.

This equipment is a part of the county’s $1 million to buy inclement weather equipment.

That includes last month’s vote to buy four freestanding buildings for a total of $34,083 to store salt and sand around the county.

Each of these buildings by ClearSpan Fabric Structures are 34 feet by 17 feet.
