The Cobb County Board of Commissioners approved 5-0 Tuesday a lease for the county’s first Recovery Community Organization.
Davis Direction Foundation will open a resource center for addiction awareness and recovery services at 32 Fairground St. to support long-term assistance. To be known as “The Zone,” the property consists of about .76 acres, a 21,000-square-foot two-story building and 34 parking spaces.
The Zone will be “a safe haven of acceptance for anyone in any stage of recovery,” according to DavisDirection.com. The three-year lease will yield rental income to the county of $63,000 for the first year, $84,000 for the second year and $105,000 for the third year. The foundation also would have the option of purchasing the property for no more than $995,000.
