The Georgia Department of Transportation has pushed back by one week the third and final temporary closing of the Riverside Drive bridge over Interstate 285 in Sandy Springs.
The closing, to allow bridge repairs and maintenance work, had been scheduled for three consecutive weekends in August, with the last closure planned for this weekend. It instead will take place 9 p.m. Friday, Aug. 26, until 5 a.m. Monday, Aug. 29, according to GDOT.
Detours will be posted, directing motorists to use local streets to Mount Vernon Highway to get from one side of I-285 to the other.
