Clayton Schools has again postponed live high school graduations, but has set tentative dates for the exercises in the virtual world.
On June 25, Lovejoy High School plans to hold virtual graduation at 10 a.m., the district said in a release. That will be followed by Mundy’s Mill at 1 p.m., Morrow at 4 p.m. and Forest Park at 7 p.m.
Virtual graduations for Jonesboro (10 a.m.) and Mt. Zion (1 p.m.) high schools as well as Elite Scholars Academy (4 p.m.) and Stilwell SOA (7 p.m.) are planned for June 26.
Graduations for Drew (10 a.m.), North Clayton (1 p.m.) and Riverdale (4 p.m.) high schools and Perry Career Academy (7 p.m.) are set for June 27.
A more traditional live graduation may be held in late summer or early fall, the school system said. Plans to hold the ceremonies earlier in the summer were ditched after new state safety guidelines capped gatherings at no more than 25 people to continue social distancing practices.
“It is hoped that existing pandemic conditions as they relate to large group events will be more favorable” later in the year, the district said.
