A ribbon cutting ceremony for a new Clayton County Police Precinct was held recently at 3199 Anvil Block Road in Ellenwood.
The 5,100 square foot facility serves the northeast portion of Clayton County also known as District One. Construction of this precinct provides increased response times, increases local exposure for police officers and enhances the ability of the police officers to build community relationships.
Funds for the Sector 2 Police Precinct were approved by voters as part of the 2009 Special Local Options Sales Tax program. The facility was constructed with a roll call room, an intoxication room, a criminal investigations division room, offices for a station captain, three lieutenants, three sergeants, a group work area and a break room.
It also has a fenced and gated parking area for 75 vehicles with secured wireless capability. All offices have up-to-date technology allowing police officers real time data retrieval.
