The continuing COVID-19 pandemic appears to have caused the cancellation of another community tradition: The 2020 edition of Autumn Fest, a popular family festival that draws several thousand people to Holly Springs every October, has been called off.

"City staff did not make this decision lightly," according to a city announcement. "However, the health and well-being of our community is at the forefront of every decision the city makes. Even with modifications to the festival, staff felt that the safest and most responsible decision would be to cancel this year's event."

The city said it was certain the 2021 Autumn Fest “will come back better than ever.”

This year’s Autumn Fest would have been the 17th. Held on a Saturday in October, the free event offers arts and crafts vendors, food trucks, an entertainment stage and a children’s zone.
