Church hosts $.99 gas sale promotion in Marietta, bishop says

A church located in Marietta is celebrating Easter Sunday by hosting a 99-cent gas giveaway on Saturday, the bishop said.
THE LIFE Church (TLC) of Marietta and Fort Valley is hosting the event in association with Texaco.
The giveaway started at noon at the Texaco gas station at 1655 Powder Springs Road in Marietta.
Spread the word fast: when supplies of the 99-cent gas are gone on Saturday, they're gone, according to Channel 2 Action News.
The difference in price will be donated by THE LIFE Church (TLC), according to Bishop Sherman Wesley Scott, who helped mastermind the "fill up" initiative.
"On Easter Saturday, the tomb of Jesus was found empty," Scott said. "Here in Cobb County on Saturday, families in this region can enjoy a tank of gas for much less in celebration of Easter Sunday."
"Ever since my wife and Pastor Sharon Scott and I were welcomed here in 2007 we have focused our energies on many holistic approaches to the development of people in the locality," the bishop said. "This is one novel idea we wish to share with the broader community over Easter, a time of renewal and reflection."
TLC has has headquarters on 1839 Powder Springs Road in Marietta with a second location at 460 Wye St. in Fort Valley.
Scott has affirmed that his mission is to "change lives, strengthen families and impact communities across Cobb County and beyond."
