Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta has opened a new Urgent Care Center in Dacula.

The clinic at 2240 Hamilton Creek Pkwy. will provide after-hours care for kids in Gwinnett County, staying open until 9 p.m. every day except for holidays, when the center will close at 7 p.m.

The Urgent Care Center will open at 11 a.m. weekdays and 9 a.m. on weekends, with walk-in patients accepted every day. Patients (or, more likely, their parents) can also schedule appointments online any time and check estimated wait times before leaving home.

This new location is the seventh Urgent Care Center opened by CHOA, which also operates 28 “neighborhood locations,” three hospitals and the Marcus Autism Center.

“We’re so thankful for a community in Gwinnett that not only supports our mission, but that works with us to strengthen the health of those children — making Gwinnett’s kids better today and healthier tomorrow,” said Donna Hyland, president and CEO of CHOA, in a statement.

In 2022, Georgia Power projected its winter peak electricity demand would grow by about 400 megawatts by 2031. Since then, Georgia has experienced a boom of data centers, which require a large load of electricty to run, and Georgia Power's recent forecast shows peak demand growing by 20 times the 400-megawatt estimate from just three years ago.
