An 8-year-old child was air-lifted in critical condition from the scene of an accident on I-85 northbound at Buford Drive in Gwinnett County, police say.
All lanes of traffic were blocked just before 9 p.m., after an accident involving a tractor trailer and an SUV, Cpl. Deon Washington, a spokesman for Gwinnett County police, said.
All lanes were again open at 11 p.m.
The child's mother was taken to Northeast Georgia Hospital with non-life threatening injures, Washington said.
The driver of tractor trailer reported no injuries, Washington said.
