With a possible traffic nightmare looming from the I-85 bridge collapse, Chick-fil-A wants to ease metro Atlanta traffic by applying its standard solution — eat more chicken.

The chicken chain is offering carpoolers free select entrees for the next couple weeks in an effort to reduce morning rush hour.

Here's the deal: Your vehicle must have three or more people, everyone picks one of four entrees (not meals) — Chicken Biscuit, Breakfast Burrito and Egg White Grill or Chick-n-Minis — and you'll only get free food until 7:30 a.m.

The offer runs Monday through Friday until April 14 and includes “all metro Atlanta area restaurants,” said Jonathan Keith, a spokesman for the chain.

When asked which stores would be participating, he suggested folks call locations before going.

Chick-fil-A has used other methods to reward folks who are creating less traffic. Keith said Chick-fil-A gave out about 1,200 biscuits in total to Monday morning MARTA riders at the Five Points and North Springs stations.

A police warrant accuses a 39-year-old man of setting a fire that led to the blaze that led to the I-85 bridge collapse Thursday.

Cleaning up the wreckage and rebuilding is expected to be an extensive and expensive process.
