The Cherokee County School District is alerting motorists that early release days the last week of school, May 21-25, may affect nearby traffic.

All high school students will be able to leave early following final exams from 10 a.m. Monday, May 21 through Thursday, May 24, officials said. High school buses will operate their usual afternoon schedules; middle and elementary schools are not affected.

On the last day of school, Friday, May 25, all high schools and middle schools will dismiss on a half-day schedule, with buses departing early, officials said.

Dismissal times are: ACE Academy: 11:30 a.m.; Cherokee High School, Creekland Middle School, Creekview High School, Etowah High School, River Ridge High School, Sequoyah High School, Teasley Middle School, Woodstock High School: 12 p.m.; Dean Rusk Middle School, E.T. Booth Middle School, Freedom Middle School, Mill Creek Middle School, Woodstock Middle School: 12:45 p.m.

Elementary school dismissal is not affected and will remain 2:15 p.m.
