The Cherokee County Chamber of Commerce will have members partner with individual schools, speak at career fairs and host field trips as part of a renewed partnership agreement with the Cherokee County Schools.

The School Board recently voted to approve the agreement, in which Chamber members participate in the Partners in Education Program, talks to eighth graders about career opportunities in the county, and provides guides to field trips so students can understand economic development and workplace issues.

The Chamber also would coordinate a “Going Green” recycling competition; coordinate Teen Leadership Cherokee, a leadership program for 10th graders; and make a donation for the purchase of books honoring retiring educators to the Sequoyah Regional Library System.
