The Cherokee County Board of Education at its recent board meeting named new district administrators and a new principal as it continues to announce appointments and promotions for the 2018-19 school year.

Boston Elementary School Principal Izell McGruder was named an administrator in the Office of Curriculum & Instruction overseeing English for speakers of other languages programs; and LaToya Gray, currently principal of Summit Hill Elementary School in Alpharetta, supervisor for special education.

The board also named Catherine Head as coordinator of curriculum; Maria Rosario-Regan, curriculum and instruction – Title 1 administrator; Lyn Turnell, curriculum and instruction – student assessment administrator; and Tonya Sebring, school operations administrator.

Valerie Lowery, currently an assistant principal at Canton Elementary School STEM Academy, will succeed McGruder as principal at Boston. The board also appointed 17 assistant principals and two teachers on special assignment (TSAs). Information: https://bit.ly/2qQFVR8
