East Cherokee Baseball Inc. will continue providing baseball programming for young people under a partnership agreement approved last week by the Cherokee County School District board.

The non-profit organization provides recreational and competitive baseball to children and young adults ages 4 through 19. Under the agreement, the school district will waive facility fees for the outdoor fields at Mountain Road Elementary School, Woodstock.

In return, East Cherokee Baseball will maintain the fields and install field lighting; offer workshops, clinics and presentations to coaches, parents and students; and provide scholarships so that low-income and disadvantaged families can participate.

Field usage will be limited to 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. Saturdays; 1 to 6 p.m. Sundays; and 5:30 to 10 p.m. weekdays. Summer hours will be 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday through Saturday, and 1 to 6 p.m. Sunday.
