The Cherokee County Board of Commissioners has renewed a lease agreement with Trinity Presbyterian Church of Free Home to let Cherokee Youth Basketball continue to use its gym.

The three-year lease renewal carries the Cherokee Recreation & Parks Agency into its 10th season leasing gym space in the Chris C. Hite Memorial Community Center at the church, 1136 Trinity Church Road, according to a staff report to commissioners.

Cherokee Youth Basketball participation fees will cover the cost of leasing the gym, averaging about $7,000 per year, staff said. The church will be paid $25 per practice and $35 per game during the CYB season, October through April.
