The Cherokee County Board of Commissioners has approved a lease agreement with the MICA Community Fire Department for its Yellow Creek community fire station near Ball Ground.
Cherokee County Fire and Emergency Services uses the fire house at 5804 Yellow Creek Road as its station No. 15.
“Approval of this agreement will allow CCFES to continue to occupy the fire station at that location until it is eventually replaced in the future,” Fire Chief Tim Prather told commissioners in an agenda memo.
According to the lease, the county will pay $1 a year to lease the station and will be responsible for maintaining it. The lease expires May 15, 2019, and will automatically renew for five successive, one-year terms.
