The Cherokee County Board of Commissioners has awarded a nearly $3 million construction services contract for the county’s 2019 street resurfacing program.

Colditz Trucking Inc. is tasked with repairing and resurfacing about 18.3 miles of county-maintained roadways – 84 streets in 15 subdivisions, according to a staff report to commissioners.

The subdivisions are Camden Woods, Sequoyah Woods, Shiloh Ridge, Foxhall, Hickory Woods, Southlands, Springfield Place, Waverly Hills, Waverly Park, Centennial Place, Eagle Watch, Providence Place, Township Place, Holly Trace and Etowah Valley Estates.

According to the contract, Colditz will have 180 calendar days from the Notice to Proceed date to complete the work.

Most of the costs will be covered by a $2.27 million Local Maintenance & Improvement Grant of the Georgia Department of Transportation, staff said. Information: https://bit.ly/2Tn2Nak
