Investigators have not yet determined what caused the wreck that killed a Cherokee County teenager, police said Friday.
Shannon Arianna Wilson, 16, died Tuesday afternoon when her Toyota Corolla crossed the center line into oncoming traffic on Hickory Road, Lt. Tanya Smith with Holly Springs police told the AJC.
Wilson, of Canton, apparently left the roadway and over-corrected, causing her car to drive into the path of a Jeep Grand Cherokee, Smith said. The Jeep struck Wilson's car on the passenger side, killing the teen.
Police have not determined what caused Wilson to leave the roadway, Smith said. No charges are expected.
Funeral services for Wilson were planned Friday afternoon at Harvest Baptist Church in Acworth, followed by burial at Rolling Hills Memory Garden.
Wilson is survived by her parents, Jeff and Susan Wilson, a sister and numerous other relatives.
