The Class of 2019 in Cherokee County’s six public high schools posted the second-highest overall SAT score of the 10 metro Atlanta counties and eighth-highest score of Georgia’s 180 school districts, district officials said.

Newly released data from the Georgia Department of Education showed that Cherokee County schools' total average SAT score of 1115 put them in the top 15% of all 478 high schools in the state, according to a school district announcement. The six schools' scores were within 3% or about 35 points of each other, indicating "consistency in excellence."

“The top colleges CCSD students chose to send score reports to include Kennesaw State University, University of Georgia and University of North Georgia,” the district said. “The top majors being considered by CCSD test takers included health care professions, business and engineering.”

Fayette County schools took first place among metro county districts, with an average SAT score of 1140; and Cobb County schools, third place with a 1114 score. Information: https://bit.ly/2LKBa6k
