Cherokee County schools offer free meals to needy kids

Every Monday through July 20, the Cherokee County School District will distribute free to-go bags containing a week’s worth of breakfasts and lunches to children in need as part of its summer meal program.

Drive-through stations will be set up from 10 a.m. to noon at the following schools: Carmel Elementary, 2275 Bascomb Carmel Road, Woodstock; Cherokee High, 930 Marietta Highway, Canton; Creekview High, 1550 Owens Store Road, Canton; Hasty ES Fine Arts Academy, 205 Brown Industrial Parkway, Canton; Indian Knoll Elementary, 3635 Univeter Road, Canton; Oak Grove ES Fine Arts Academy, 6118 Woodstock Road, Acworth; River Ridge High, 400 Arnold Mill Road, Woodstock; and Teasley Middle, 151 Hickory Log Drive, Canton.

The recipients, infants through 18 years of age, must be present to receive a bag.

Additionally, the CCSD School Nutrition Cruising Cafe mobile feeding bus and school nutrition vans will be delivering food in Acworth, Canton and Woodstock. For a schedule of stops and additional information about the meal program: https://bit.ly/2z63QU0
