Continuing a phased reopening of public facilities, closed months ago by the COVID-19 pandemic, Cherokee County announced the Tax Assessor and Tax Commissioner’s offices have reopened to the public, and swim teams have returned to the Aquatic Center.

The Tax Assessor’s office is open with social distancing, traffic flow patterns and sanitizing procedures; while the Tax Commissioner’s office also will have more frequent cleaning of countertops and glass partitions at service windows, the county said.

Nonetheless, the county added, "it still is strongly advised for taxpayers to complete their business with the tax commissioner's office online, if able." Information: http://ow.ly/Ewp130qLgq7

Separately, the Cherokee County Aquatic Center said it has resumed indoor pool use for swim teams, with restrictions. The outdoor pool is to open June 15 with staggered sessions and reduced capacity to allow for cleaning and disinfecting between sessions. Programs, including aqua aerobics, also resume June 15.
