Citing the uncertainty created by the COVID-19 outbreak, the Cherokee County Recreation and Parks Agency has pushed back, to later in May, early and regular registration dates for summer 2020 camp programs.

"Once those dates are decided and finalized, we will update you via email, our website and through our social media outlets," parks officials said in a Facebook posting.

Officials noted that early registrants – for those who attended seven of eight weeks of the 2019 summer camp, and only for the Adventures Express and KAOS camps – will still have time to sign up before regular registration opens. Other specialty camps, such as Fishing, Waterlogged, Lego and STEM, will have regular registration, once that date is determined.

If a program is canceled, registrants will receive a full refund, including of the non-refundable deposit, officials said. During the summer, campers who cancel due to illness or circumstances related to COVID-19 also will receive full refunds including the deposit.
