After major recycling companies banned glass from single-stream collections July 1, Cherokee County has responded by announcing it is accepting glass at two recycling centers, in Canton and Woodstock.
Clear, green and brown glass will be accepted at the Blalock Road Recycling Center, 470 Blalock Road, Canton, officials said. Hours of operation are noon to 6 p.m. Tuesday and Wednesday, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Thursday and Friday, and 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday. The center is closed Sunday and Monday.
Glass also will be accepted at the Hobgood Park Recycling Center, 6688 Bells Ferry Road, Woodstock. The center is open 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. seven day a week.
The next-closest recycling centers accepting glass are in Roswell, Sandy Springs, Smyrna and Atlanta.
