A firm that’s called Cherokee County home for 35 years is adding employees and expanding.

The Cherokee Office of Economic Development says LAT Apparel will move from Airport Drive to nearby Leo Taylor Road in Ball Ground, allowing it to consolidate all operations under one roof. Officials say the 160,000 square-foot building represents an investment of $9. 6 million and will result in the creation of 30 new jobs. LAT is planning a March, 2016 move-in.

The company specializes in t-shirts, sweatshirts and other clothing items.
