Chamblee could have a city manager as early as March.

The City Council has selected five finalists for the job and plans to conduct interviews next weekend, Mayor R. Eric Clarkson said.

The finalists were not identified. State law requires the city to identify the finalists once the list is narrowed to three, Clarkson said.

“We have some really good people in the group,” Clarkson said.

Police Chief Marc Johnson has served as interim city manager.
